The School of Engineering is one of six departments at the University College of Borås. It offers 22 study programmes at diploma, bachelor’hs and master’s levels. About 100 international students, many of them coming from South Asia, study at the School of Engineering each academic year. MSc programmes in Environmental Engineering and Waste Management and Resource Recovery Technology are offered. The University College of Borås prides itself with good ties to industry. Close by is for example the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute, with a unique competence.

The School of Engineering has a large contingent of Masters students coming from South Asia. Michael Tittus participated in the SASNET workshop on ”The role of South Asia in the internationalisation of higher education in Sweden held in Stockholm 29-29 November 2006, where he gave a presentation regarding the enrollment of especially Indian students. From 2006 the School of Engineering is also involved in a Linnaues Palme Exchange Programme for exchange of teachers and students with St. Berchmans College (also known as S B College) in Changanassery, Kerala, India. The person in charge for this project at Borås University is Mikael Skrifvars, Professor in polymer technology. More information.
