About Falsterbo

Every year the Falsterbo Peninsula attracts a large number of visitors. Sandy beaches for bathing and recreation and unique natural surroundings, together with the settlements of Skan?r and Falsterbo, and their medieval traditions, as well as other relics of cultural history, make it an area with features that are unique from a national and European perspective. The peninsula is without equal in Sweden for the preservation of its natural and cultural environment. The Falsterbo Peninsula is also of national interest for its diversity of outdoor life. The coastline of the Falsterbo Peninsula has been declared a wetlands area meriting international protection. The marine surroundings and large portions of the land have been declared nature reserves and Natura 2000 areas. Ocean currents have built up the Falsterbo Peninsula by a system of sandbanks, but the landscape is ever-changing. Protected inlets and bays, wet heaths, grasslands along the shore, grassy heaths, and other natural environments in this coastal area of Sweden have created the conditions for an unusually rich variety of flora and fauna.

Falsterbo offers kilometers of beaches, restaurants, art galleries, and two international golf courses. The area also features a unique Viking Reserve and an Amber Museum.
