Huddinge seminar on Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar

On Wednesday 7 March 2018, 14.00-16.00, the Swedish Labor Movement's archives and libraries (Arbetarrörelsens arkiv och bibliotek, ARAB) in Huddinge, south of Stockholm, organises a public seminar dedicated to Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, Indian lawyer, economist, politician and contributed to many social reforms. Ambedkar fought against Dalits’ social discrimination and for women and workers rights. He was India's first justice minister after independence and he was the main architect of the Indian constitution and thus one of the founders of the Indian Republic. Two visiting Indian researchers - Dr. Chitra Sinha and Shivangi Jaiswal - will speak about Ambedkar, with an introduction by Hans Larsson. Chitra Sinha comes from the Center for Gender Studies in Uppsala and Shivangi Jaiswal from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.
The seminar is held in English, no pre-registration is required. More information.
